ercules Athletics events in Mona-
co are famous for attracting the
world’s best athletes. And the 2019
meet has been no exception. Coming into
the meet Sifan Hassan had signaled her in-
tention to beat her personal record in the
mile. And the Batavian did exactly what
she said. She scored the 6th world record
in the history of Herculis. Another high-
light of the evening was in the 100 metres.
American veteran Justin Gatlin (37) tamed
his countryman Noah Lyles with a time of
9’91, just a hundredth of a second faster
than the young Lyles. The American Syd-
ney McLaughlin put in a big performance.
She won the 400m hurdles with the best
performance in the world for this year with
a time of 53’32.

но участвуют лучшие спортсмены
мира, и 2019 год не стал исключением. На-
пример, чемпионка мира Сифан Хассан
признавалась, что ставит цель побить лич-
ный рекорд в беге на 1 милю. И это ей уда-
лось! Спортсменка из Нидерландов уста-
новила шестой мировой рекорд в истории
Herculis. Одним из ярчайших событий вече-
ра стал мужской забег на 100 м. Со време-
нем 9’91 победителем стал 37-летний аме-
риканский спринтер Джастин Гэтлин, всего
на одну сотую секунды обошедший своего
соотечественника Ноа Лайлса. Блестяще
выступила еще одна представительница
США Сидни Маклафлин: 20-летняя спорт
сменка показала лучшее время этого года в
беге на 400 м с препятствиями (53’32).

n August 2–3, 2019, His Grace, Irenei,
Bishop of London and Western Eu-
rope of the Russian Orthodox Church
Abroad, completed His first official visit to the
Principality of Monaco. This historic event was
organized by the Russian Orthodox Church of
Monaco Association (EORM) with the support
of the Bishop’s Diocese, the head of the church
of the Mother of God «Joy of All Who Sorrow»
in Menton, Father Eugene Nikitin, Alexan-
der Hagerty (EORM Association President &
Founding Member of IOPS in France) and Eka-
terina Shashkovskaya. The main
purpose of His Grace, Bishop Ire-
nei’s visit was the strengthening
of relations with the Administra-
tion (EORM) and its Consultative
Committee, developing spiritual
communication with parishion-
ers, and also clarifying the impor-
tance of growth of the Orthodox
faith in Monaco.

exander Hagerty, President of the Russian Orthodox
Church of Monaco Association (EORM)

в Монако (EORM) при содействии Епархии,
настоятеля храма иконы Пресвятой Бого-
родицы «Всех скорбящих Радость» в Мен-
тоне иерея Евгения Никитина, Александра
Хагерти (президента Ассоциации EORM и
одного из учредителей ИППО во Франции)
и г-жи Екатерины Шашковской. Основные
цели визита Его Преосвященства заключа-
лись в укреплении отношений с руковод-
ством Ассоциации и Консультативного Со-
вета, а также в развитии духовной связи с
прихожанами, разъяснении важности под-
держания православной религии именно
здесь, ведь за последние десять лет право-
славие стало второй религией в Княжестве
(2000 верующих и еще несколько тысяч из
соседних городов Франции).
