Teens Today
When you don't know a lot about oday's teens, the statistics can be unbelievably shocking. It's sad to think that with the improvement of technology, our younger generations should be healthy. However, studies have shown that today's teens are less healthy than they used to be and actually have a shorter life expectancy than adults today. Many of these problems rely on the fact that teenagers do not get the excercise they need each day in order to stay healthy. Studies have shown that only 4% of the teenage population between the ages of 12 and 17 are getting the 1 hour of vigoous physical activity they need each day. That is only one in every twenty people. The levels of exercise have decreased dramatically in recent years as teens become too preoccupied with things such as videogames and television screens. What teenagers and children tend to when using this technology is eat beacause they have nothing else to do with their hands and this is where the problems arise. Although eating may be healthier than one might expect, today's teens tend to dive into junk food while on their computer. This diet, along with the decreased levels of exercise results in obesity, an increasing statistic among teenagers. Nearly a quarter of teenagers today are obese and that is more than ever before. So whether you're a parent or a teenager yourself, the encouragement to eat healthy and get the excercise you need should always be there.

Q: I'm finding a difficulty between my partner and I in that we can't speak about our emotions
A: You must be able to accept your partners differences and establish some emotional support between the two of you. Teenagers often skip this stage in a relationship and jump right into it. It is important that you clarify your message and any problems that you may have with your partner. Only focus on one thing at a time. Don't give your partner a list of problems. If a problem is stated, listen. It may be tempting to burst out with your own opinion but simply restrain yourself. Talk your way through it.
