gadget, there are several high tech
tools for weight loss.

Rise is a subscription based service through iTunes that matches
you with a registered dietician. Snap

coach will write back within the day
with ways to improve on it. Plans
start at $15 a month.
Zestar is a subscription based
service through iTunes that helps
you adjust your next meal’s specification based upon what you previously
ate in order to keep you on track.
Plans start at $4 a month.
DietPoint Pro, available through
iTunes and Google Play for $8 a
month, offers 130 meal plans and
sends timed reminders: “Drop what
you’re doing and focus on your
lunch” to keep you committed.
MyFitnessPal, available on
Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Windows
Phone and the web, this mobile
app and website provides tools for
tracking what you’re eating and
how many calories you’re burning
through activities. MyFitnessPal has
one of the largest databases of foods
and drinks.
Movement &
Exercise
Argus is a free, but iOS only,
alternative to costly Fitbit One
and Jawbone UP24 activity trackers. It tracks your activity directly
through the iPhone rather than via
a separately purchased device. It
allows you to log workouts, track
how much water you drink and take
