HealthStream also asked healthcare leaders to rate various aspects of the past 10 years to understand what was driving the low scores in the above chart . Leaders were asked to rate 19 aspects on a scale of 1 ( poor ) to 10 ( excellent ). Interestingly , nothing received a high rating ( average score of 8-10 ). All ratings were 6.56 or lower .
Healthcare leaders gave lukewarm ratings to these items :
• Improving digital communication with consumers 6.56
• Adopting technologies that improved the efficiency 6.40 quality of care
• Improving overall quality of patient care 6.39
• The impact of the CDC ’ s initiatives in improving 6.35 quality of care
• Protecting healthcare organizations from 6.25 cybersecurity threats
• Moving physicians from independent providers 6.25 to employees
