The Owens Health and Wellness Center through the Active Life Program implemented interventions that addressed chronic disease and safety. Active Life staff stands committed to motivate midlife and upper aged adults to eliminate sedentary behavior and create new and improved lifestyle changes. Participants navigate their active living progress by determining if the health workshops and physical fitness regimens foster changes in their lifestyle behavior. ! This program is held on the first Tuesday of each month in the Owens Health and Wellness Center from 9 a.m. until 11a.m. Each session incorporates health resolutions as follows: 1) Conduct monthly open panel discussions on chronic disease; 2) Perform quarterly Body Mass Index, cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure health screenings that administered by a Federally Qualified Health Clinic (FQHC); 3) Incorporate weekly personalized fitness training sessions, such as Sit/Fit, Toning, and Line Dance; 4) Incorporate Fitness Center equipment usage designed to build stamina, reduce falls, and maintain healthy weight. !
