Title Lack of sleep diminishes the effect of vaccines

Many investigations have shown the importance of respecting the hours of sleep for good health. Now, scientists of the University of Pittsburgh (USA) have taken one further step and show that the lack of rest can modify the effect of vaccines and, even, do they not serve anything.

The study, which is published in the magazine SLEEP, consisted of the analysis of the immune response after vaccination against the virus of hepatitis B in healthy people aged between 40 and 60 years. The results revealed that participants who slept less than six hours per day produced fewer antibodies in response to the vaccine, and many of them were not immunized after the same. "Sleep less than six hours a day carries a strong risk of being unprotected compared to those who sleep more than six hours," explain the scientists in his Studio.
