upsetting events that do happen. Realising now and in the future that
the choice is always yours.
You do not eat just because you’re bored. When you are bored or
apathetic you instead direct your energy toward other activities
besides eating. Anytime you even begin to feel bored, your
subconscious mind automatically directs you to activities that take
your mind away from eating. Alternative present themselves clearly
and you choose and seize these alternatives automatically.
You’re discovering now that you have the capacity of mind to begin to
deal with your feelings directly, no longer needing to submerge
feelings in food. You know and realise, on both the conscious and
subconscious levels, that the mouth never ever solved the problems of
the mind, but you do have the capacity with your mind to deal with
your feelings directly, to allow yourself to experience feelings …
feelings of anger, or frustration, or sadness, or boredom, or even joy.
You’re discovering that you have the capacity to experience your
feelings, to feel them, and to resolve them. You no longer need to try to
distance feelings or submerge them in food. You’re learning that you
can deal far more effectively with your feelings with your mind rather
than your mouth.
Situational Trigger
Now and in the future, you’re learning to structure your environment
to manage your eating. You’re eliminating the reminders and the easy
opportunities to eat inappropriately. You keep problem foods out of
the house if possible. But if you must have problem foods on hand, you
make them as inaccessible as possible. You do not store food where it
is easily visible and a reminder to eat. You’re taking charge of your
environment whether you’re home or dining out.
