Keep it simple and just go through each scene in enough detail to fully access it. Remember: This journey is probably the one with the awful turbulence where the plane goes down. If you walk away from it at the end, then is it really the worst case scenario? NOW - Take a nice deep breath and relax away the tension. Step 3 You went all the way through to the end. Great! Now it's time to do it all backwards like this: Describe each scene as though it is still going forwards but in REVERSE ORDER Like watching a movie where all the scenes play normally but you watch the last scene first, then the second last scene etc. This is easier than you might expect - we have the ability to think backwards, we just don’t use it much. Ask your friend to help you by giving you the prompt “Go to the thought before that”. Go through the scenes quickly - with just enough detail to know that you have accessed the scene. For example: “Turbulence is very bad, I’m feeling very anxious” Go to the thought before that “Seatbelt sign comes on, feeling nervous” Go to the thought before that “Looking out the window, worrying about the flight” Go to the thought before that... Right back to the very first scene. NOW - Take a nice deep breath and relax away the tension. Step 4 Walk through the journey you want to have.
