Young lawyers are uniquely situated in a defining period of their legal career , in between being a law student and a seasoned attorney . I remember life as a law student , when time was measured by semesters , and our attention was fixated on passing exams , writing that journal article , preparing moot court or trial team presentations , and nesting in the law library while we read the decrees of Judge Learned Hand and studied the doctrines of Palsgraf ; International Shoe Co .; and Marbury v . Madison .
From the time we pass the bar exam and take the oath of attorney , things change , and we make the transition from future lawyer to young lawyer . From there , we encounter a host of brand-new experiences : applying for our first legal job , meeting CLE requirements , representing our first clients , appearing in court , and developing our newly-earned position
