I treasure each of you and hope that our YLD bonds remain strong even after I am officially a member of the O . L . D .
To our wonderful judicial liaisons — long-serving Judge Samantha Ward and new liaison Judge Elizabeth Rice — as well as Chief Judge Ronald Ficarrotta — thank you for your wisdom , guidance , and support . And to every judge who attended a YLD event or supported us in some way — thank you for investing in our young lawyers ; your presence is truly impactful and appreciated . I am also grateful to the “ Big Board ” and President Jacqueline Simms-Petredis for their support of the YLD in word and deed . With your guiding example , I have no doubt the YLD will continue to be a strong division of the HCBA . Last , but certainly not least , thank you SO BIG to Laurie Rideout — the YLD would not function without you — and to John Kynes , Derek Jardeleza , Monique Lawson , Stacy Williams , and all the other staff members that make the magic happen .
As we approach a new Bar year , I am joyfully anticipating the leadership of Sean Bevil . No doubt he and the Board have more joy-inducing fun in the works . If you are contemplating joining the YLD or attending an event , say “ yes ” to the joy of YLD . If your experience is anything like mine , the YLD will bring you friendships , career development and volunteer opportunities , fun , and memories you will treasure forever . n
