On September 22 , the Hillsborough County Bar Association Leadership Institute Class of 2022-2023 met for orientation at the Chester H . Ferguson Law Center . The evening was marked by socializing and games designed to encourage teambuilding . This year ’ s group features a varied array of talented local attorneys who specialize in everything from family law to commercial transactions to government work . The practice sizes of the attorneys ’ firms are equally diverse — with some working in solo practices , while others practice at large national firms .

To begin the festivities , we heard from HCBA Executive director John Kynes , as well as this year ’ s Institute Chairs , Alexa Cline , Jason Imler , and daniela Mendez , about the excitement and growth to come in the year ahead . After taking the time to introduce one another and trade information , both professional and personal , the attorneys broke out into three different teams , each captained by a Chair , and were asked to answer a series of questions to compete for highly coveted gift cards . On Thursday , October 6 , the class gathered at Port Tampa Bay , a few minutes from downtown Tampa , for the first tour of the program . It was a warm and sunny afternoon with a light breeze — perfect weather to be on the water for a boat tour of the vast harbor
