There are important changes that have come into effect this month that mean Australians can earn more and keep more of what they earn .
From July 1 , the Albanese Government ’ s tax cuts mean that every single Australian taxpayer will see an increase to their take home pay . There is also great news for minimum wage earners and people on awards who will receive a pay rise . And starting this month , every single household will receive $ 300 in energy relief to help ease the cost of living .

I know households are under pressure and while there is more work to do , these tax cuts and pay increases will provide cost of living relief . It ’ s not by chance that these changes have come into effect , it ’ s because the government listened to what households and families need and took action .
These changes mean that a full-time worker earning the minimum wage will see an increase in their take home pay of $ 38 a week , thanks to the combination of the tax cuts and pay rises .
If you ’ re a cleaner or retail worker , you will have $ 40 more going into your account every week , and for registered

nurses and aged care workers it ’ s $ 50 a week because of the pay rise , coupled with the tax cut .
It ’ s not just minimum wage earners and people on awards who will see a difference this month . The government made changes to Fair Work laws that mean an additional 360,000 workers are now on enterprise agreements .
Almost 10,000 truck drivers and other transport workers at Linfox and Toll Global Express will receive a pay rise on July 1 , along with the tax cut . A standard rate of pay for a driver there is around $ 85,000 a year , and they ’ ll be getting $ 75 more into their bank account every week

thanks to the award rate increase and our tax cuts .
The Albanese Government made these changes because we wanted to help people earn more and keep more of what they earn , and we did it without the support of the Opposition who voted against these laws .
We ’ re putting more money in working people ’ s pockets , while keeping downward pressure on inflation because tackling the cost of living is our number one priority . We will continue to work to make life more affordable and we ’ re certainly not going to push energy prices up with expensive nuclear reactors !
