A Hanover Holidays representative, Christine Yanke, spoke about her upcoming bus tour to the Paducah Quilt Show, starting on April 23, 2014, for 6 days. Lynn Dunlop came as our guest to thank us on behalf of the Children’s Aid Society for all the gifts that member gave to the foster children on the island. Our generosity of greatly appreciated. Nancy Lyne encouraged members to take a block kit and return the finished block in January to make a comfort quilt for Joe Price. Jackie Batman has offered to machine quilt it. The backing will come from the charity fabric stash and Kathy G will donate the batting. Jackie White talked about the CQA and in particular the Trend Tex Challenge, Quilt Canada and the Youth Challenge. The Block of the Month Draw will be in January. From the October Block of the Month there are 2 bags of blocks waiting to be made into charity quilts. The Quilt Show will be Sept 13 and 14, 2014 and plans are in the 2013-14 Meetings & Special Dates: works to have the Quilt of Belonging on display. It will need to be transported from Kingston.
