How To Make A Luggage Tag
www.canadianquilter.com
You will receive:
◊ 6” square of fabric with embroidery on one side, this is the Right Side.
◊ Two 5” pieces of Velcro (hook and loop)
You will need to provide:
◊ 6” piece of red fabric, print or solid (think Canadian), this is the back side.
◊ 6” piece of batting
Instructions:
1. Layer the two 6” squares of fabric right sides together and place the piece
of batting on top.
2. Stitch around the sandwich, ¼” seam allowance leaving a 2” opening on one
side.
3. Turn right sides out and stitch the opening closed.
4. Pin one piece of the Velcro on back side of embroidery, centering it. Stitch
around perimeter of Velcro being careful to not stitch on the embroidery
that is on the opposite side.
5. With the Right side (embroidery side) up, attach the other piece of Velcro at
the “Bottom edge” centering it, and stitch around it.
6. Quilt a few lines across the middle of the luggage tag to hold all three layers
in place and you are done!
On behalf of the Canadian Quilters’ Association (CQA/ACC), thank you for supporting our fundraiser. These luggage tags will be given as a ‘thank-you” to everyone who donates a quilt for our silent auction to raise funds for our national
organization. Jackie White, Vice President, CQA/ACC
