If you've been around the area for a while or if you keep up with the local Twitter streams, you may well have heard the urban myth of the Goatman of Parkland Walk. We had. So it was fascinating to learn this year that not only does the myth have substance, but the Goatman lives on the Ladder. Having been unmaksed, Goatman Dick shared how a seventies commune lifestyle gave rise to the local myth.
From recent history to ancient history, we also learned a (very) little bit more about Harringay's ancient Egyptian Priest.
And for those who like their truth naked, you were no doubt titillated to learn about our New River skinny dipper.
Coming back down to earth, housing prices are always sure to set the blood racing and there's been plenty of talk about Harringay house prices this year. For some it's a blessing; for others a curse.
Nature was thrilling some Harringans this year. As well as the Open Gardens in the summer, we were purified by few days of snow in January which provided the opportunity for a wonderful Tin-Tin snowman in Finsbury Park.
As winter became Spring there was cause for a celebration of Harringay's Street gardeners and the riot of colour they create locally.
It's hard to say whether birds are getting more numerous in Harringay, but postings about birds certainly seemed to be through the year. We saw postings about seagulls, siskins and birds of prey!
