or his height, for I have rejected
him. The Lord does not look at the
things people look at. People look
at the outward appearance, but the
Lord looks at the heart”.
1 Samuel 16:7
That the lovely garden of Eden
needed tending shows that we as
humans have a role to play in
maintaining the beauty God has
bestowed upon us.
“The LORD God placed the
man in the Garden of Eden to tend
and watch over it.” Genesis 2:15
Reverence for the Lord God
our Maker is key in maintaining
our beauty in a manner than
endures through the various phases
of our lives and even as our bodies
age and change. As we tend
ourselves through the reading and
application of the word of God to
our spirit man and daily lives, we
also need to take practical steps to
care for our mental, emotional and
physical health.
“For no one ever hated his own
flesh, but nourishes and cherishes
it, just as Christ does the church.”
Ephesians 5:29
“Do not conform to the pattern
of this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind. Then

what God’s will is—his good,
pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2
“Charm is deceitful and beauty

the Lord, she shall be praised.

patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, humility and self-
control will definitely shine
through us with a beautiful aura.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, forbearance,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness
and
self-control.
Against such things there is no
law.” Galatians 5:22-23
“Your adornment must not be
merely external -- braiding the
hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or
putting on dresses; but let it be the
hidden person of the heart, with the
imperishable quality of a gentle
and quiet spirit, which is precious
in the sight of God.” 1 Peter 3:3-4
It is important to be gracious in
speech, practice correct table
manners as is appropriate for
your environment as well as
observe correct social etiquette.
For example, shaking hands
improperly, picking and scratching
