1. Mrs. Jimin Lee, the
orchestra teacher shows Junseok Kim how to make a
C chord with his fingers. She helps place his fingers properly on the frets and students
begin to play ‘How great is Our God’. 2. Ekagra Tomar starts the class with his peers by taking part in a Rhythm Review.
Students recall a strong and weak beat by clapping it out. This tied into their class activity of composing a body percussion composition in groups.
3. After stretching for class, Christopher Kim enters the guitar closet to retrieve an acoustic guitar for the class lesson. Each student had to wait in line and
was responsible to taking out, caring for, and putting away their own guitar. 4. Emily Keum, a trombone player in Ms. Lyons Concert band class, practices
her Daily Warmups with the rest of the class. Daily warm ups are very short compositions meant to challenge the student in tone and technique.
5. Saxaphone player Ethan Baek a grade six student, plays ‘through his daily tone builder, rhythm builder, and technique track. On each students sheet
there are special facts on how to play specific notes or various music theory and historic facts. This h elped develop each students appreciation of music so
they may become a more well-rounded practicioner of the arts. 6. Jeffer Ward, a student in MYP 7 music class demonstrates how he communicated by
pretending to talk on the phone. Students were inquiring about the various ways music can communicate.
