1972
At this time, BP had the Marketing office moved over from Crosby House to BP House at Pasir
Panjang Road.
36 service stations and one filling station in Singapore
1975
BP was appointed the operating manager for the Joint User Hydrant Installation (JUHI) jointly
established by BP, Caltex, Esso, Mobil, Shell and SPC at Paya Lebar Airport.
1977
BP was the consultant for the Changi Airport International Airport hydrant system which
included the design and laying of pipes under the airport apron and the automatic pumping
system for partners in the Changi Airport Fuel Hydrant Installation Pte Ltd (CAFHI)
Construction of Jurong Lubricants Blending Plant began. The 20,000 MT plant was designed
by marketing operations and constructed under our supervision.
BP Chemicals set up office in Singapore.
1978
Jurong Lubricants Blending Plant started production on 31 July.
Launch of BP self-service stations in Singapore.
1979
BP was appointed as consultant for the construction and installation of a $59.4 million Single
Buoy Mooring (SBM) system for SRC which allows the three oil companies to utilize very
large crude carriers for crude shipments.
Incorporation of Singapore Refining Company. BP has a 30% share, Caltex 30% and SPC
40%. Each party has a 33 1/3% capacity rights. SRC is managed by BP International under a
Technical and Manpower Services Agreement.
