Jetty No. 1A was commissioned. This was a very significant expansion. It enabled us to
export products like aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) and import motor spirit.
Singapore Panorama, a magnificent pictorial record of Singapore was published by BP as a
tangible commemorative project to mark the Republic’s 150th Anniversary.
BP celebrated Singapore’s National Day and 150th Anniversary in August.
Air BP was awarded another contract to fuel Air Ceylon’s Trident aircraft at Subang and Paya
Lebar International airports.
The BP England- Australia Commemorative Air Race. Singapore was among the compulsory
check points between London and Sydney in December.
BP Association was formed to organize sports, recreational and social activities for staff.

Marine 70, our bunker barge for bunker fuel was purchased.
M35, the bulk lube oil delivery barge was completed. It was built by Far East Shipyard.
BP Petroleum Development set-up office in Singapore.
1971
A major overhaul and debottlenecking of the crude distillation unit of the BP refinery took
place, increasing the throughput from 20,000 to 27,000 barrels per day.
LPG bottling plant was commissioned in BPS and bottling operations commenced that month.
A jumbo task for BP – refuelling the first jumbo-jet to land in Singapore.
BP Refinery’s LPG production unit was commissioned and bottling operation commenced.
