Behavior Expectations
The following list of rules is not intended to be all inclusive, but
rather provide a framework for working with students in a
consistent and just manner. Students are expected to act in
accordance with the standards already established by the school
for the regular school day.
• Children will show respect to each other and to
staff.
• Children will remain in the designated areas and
will not leave the area without permission.
• Children may not leave the program until the
designated parent/adult signs them out and picks
them up in person.
• Children will obey directions given by the staff.
The official guidelines for indoor and outdoor play will be on
display in the GLC main room (elementary cafeteria).
Managing and Modeling Behavior
Discipline, like any other life skill, is a learning process. In a
Christian environment we have the blessing and the
responsibility to approach discipline from a Godly
perspective. Therefore, we believe that:
• God desires us to obey authority as a part of obeying Him
• God looks at the heart, and looks for heart change and not
only outward compliance
• God calls us to work in partnership with parents
• God would have us model appropriate behavior
• God calls us to treat each child with respect as the valued
child of God that s/he is
