The health and safety of all of our students and staff
is important to us. In order to reduce exposure to
illness, we follow the following practices:
• Children and staff wash their hands when
entering the classroom from outdoors, after using the
bathroom, before eating, when serving snacks, when
conducting first aid, after cleaning or handling garbage,
or when otherwise necessary.
Children are instructed in, and assisted with, proper
hand washing procedures as necessary.
Toys are washed and disinfected on a regular schedule.
Tables are sanitized daily.
Equipment is routinely checked to ensure safety.
Illness/ Exclusion Policy
The GLC program follows the same
guidelines as The Cornerstone Christian
School. If your child is unable to attend
school, your child is unable to attend GLC
that day.
If your child becomes ill while at GLC, we
will contact you to pick him/her up
immediately. If we are unable to reach you, staff will contact
the emergency contacts you have provided. As a reminder,
the following are guidelines for exclusion from the school
day and the GLC program due to illness:
• A temperature of 100°F
• Vomiting within 24 hours
• Diarrhea within 24 hours
• Symptoms of communicable disease (lice, chickenpox,
pink eye, etc.)
• Severe nasal or chest congestion and a cough that
interferes with daily activities
• Behaviors indicating pain or distress
• Children who cannot participate normal daily activities
