General Information & Policies
Free Play
We believe that children need time to play and that
they benefit both socially and physically from
structured play and from free play. We plan time for
both large and small muscle activities, including both
indoor and outdoor play. We have developed
guidelines for ensuring that these times of play are safe and
enriching for all children. It is important that we work together with
parents to ensure that all children are following these guidelines,
which are posted in the GLC room (elementary cafeteria).
Outdoor Play
Fresh air and exercise are an important part of a child’s daily
routine. We plan outdoor play and activity daily, as
weather permits. Please make sure that your child has
the appropriate shoes and outer clothing for outdoor
play. It is important that children bring coats, hats and
mittens during the cool months.
Toys From Home
We provide games and equipment for both indoor and
outdoor play. Children may bring small toys to play with during
the program. However, GLC will not be responsible for lost or
damaged toys. In addition, children will be expected to share and
play with the other children. At no time will super hero toys, toy
guns and/or weapons or any type of electronic video game or device
be allowed. Please have your child leave these items at home.
Photographs
GLC does not permit outside agencies or vendors to photograph or
videotape children without consent signed by families. However,
we do reserve the right to take photographs or videos for
educational purposes, and to be used within our program. We will
follow the guidelines as established on Cornerstone’s Photo
Waiver.
