OUTSTANDING ACHIEVERS IN SPORT
SCOTCH BOYS SHINE IN ATHLETICS , FOOTBALL , HOCKEY AND GOLF
Despite a challenging period , several Scotch boys have realised some significant personal achievements on the sports field in recent months . Each boy has worked tirelessly on the various skillsets and fitness required in his sport , and all have shown great determination during lockdown to keep developing their talent .
Bart Leeton ( Year 7 ) has achieved some outstanding performances over the past six months on the running track , and is making a name for himself as one of the most talented 13-year-old athletes in the country . He is a proud member of the Old Scotch Athletics Club , and represented Victoria in the National Championships in Sydney in April .
Apart from breaking under 13 and under 14 club records at Old Scotch over the distances of 800m , 1500m and 3000m , Bart has
also broken state records at 1500m and 3000m , and now holds the national record in the under 14 1500 metres with a time of 4.11.07 . As well as winning the national title in the 1500m , he was able to back this up two days later with a bronze medal in the 800m .
Sam Darcy ( Year 12 ) has enjoyed a highly successful 2021 football season , emerging as a top round draft prospect for the upcoming National Draft in November . The likely destination will be the Western Bulldogs as his father , Luke Darcy , played 226 games and captained the club .
Sam has enjoyed a breakout season with excellent performances for Scotch at 1st XVIII level , and also in the Under 19 NAB competition with the Oakleigh Chargers . Standing an impressive
