strange feeling as boys played without parents and spectators .
Windy conditions and high pressure restricted clean ball movement , and despite leading by three goals in the second quarter , our boys were overrun by a defiant Xavier College , to lose by six points . The 1st XI Hockey team was impressive throughout the season , with some early strong performances highlighting the talent within the group . The team played with great flair , winning the opening round against Brighton Grammar School 9-2 , with Finn Hodder ( Year 12 ) scoring four goals . The team worked tirelessly on basic skills and playing their specific roles in team attack and defence . The cohesion of the group stood out , with greater predictability and ball retention . With many boys returning next year and beyond , Scotch rugby is in a strong position to build on this year ’ s success .
Both our 1st Basketball and Soccer teams tried hard but struggled to win games , finishing seventh and ninth respectively . An early win against Carey in the opening basketball round was the highlight of the season , as our boys clawed back from more than 10 points down to win by six points . The 1st Basketball team repeatedly
