Book Vouchers
If your anticipated financial aid results in a credit balance , you may be entitled to use that credit toward book vouchers . Book vouchers are available online beginning August 1 and in-person at the Campbell Solution Center beginning August 16 . You will first need to visit our campus book store online or in-person to determine cost . You will need to have your schedule on-hand . Then the Campbell Solution Center staff will put that amount on your ID card to purchase your books at the campus book store .
Excess Financial Aid Refunds
If you have a credit on your account once all your financial aid is received by the University for the fall or spring semester , a refund will be issued to you within 10 days of the disbursement of your financial aid . You can sign up for E-Refund through your GMercyU Self-Service account , and have your refund automatically sent to your designated bank account . Disbursements are generally sent out two weeks after the start of the semester .
Your Aid Award
You will receive access to your financial aid offer via Self-Service within just a couple of weeks after we receive a completed FAFSA . GMercyU ’ s aid packages take into account costs associated with tuition , fees , room , board , books , supplies , transportation , and miscellaneous expenses .
A typical offer includes grants or scholarships , a low-interest student loan , and campus employment . Any outside aid you receive ( like a scholarship from a local organization ) may impact your financial aid offer , so please be sure to alert us to any outside scholarship funding you will receive .
Billing
You will be able to access your tuition bill on the Student Self-Service Portal on July 6 , 2021 . Fall 2021 tuition is due on or before August 9 , 2021 .
There are several ways to pay your bill :
1 . You can submit your full balance due using our online payment portal , which is accessible via the Self-Service portal ; 2 . You can apply for a Parent Plus or Private loan , to cover an outstanding balance once all other financial aid has been applied to your account ; OR 3 . You can pay your semester charges monthly by setting up a payment plan through our online payment portal .
The payment plan will allow you to break your balance into five equal payments for Fall and five equal payments for Spring . Instructions on how to set up a payment plan will be available on the
Bursar web page and on the Self-Service helpful links .
Your monthly payment amount is calculated as follows :
• Tuition , fees and other charges minus your Anticipated Financial Aid
• If new charges are applied or additional aid is received , payment amounts are spread equally over the remaining months .
• A $ 10 late fee will be assessed monthly for any late or missed payments .
• If a second payment is missed , your payment plan will be canceled and you will be assessed a $ 100 late charge .
Student Health Insurance
Full-time undergraduates are automatically charged a fee for Health Insurance . If you are already covered through a private health plan , please complete the health insurance waiver online by September 11 , 2021 .
If you don ’ t complete the waiver online by this date , you will be responsible for the fee . The fee amount will be available in early spring . You will learn more at your Griffin K . E . Y . S . event . Please visit gmercyu . edu for more information or contact your Admissions Counselor .
After July 1 , you can complete the waiver at www . firststudent . com , and provide :
• Your birth date
• GMercyU student ID ( This number is provided on your statement . It says “ Student ID ”)
• Current insurance information
NOTE : This waiver process is different than the proof of insurance required for living on campus or participating in sports .
