The corrupt bureaucratic practices of
Bangladesh government and some
officials indicated that bribery from
MNCs to the ministers or bureaucrats
benefits them to make money, travel
the world, or get some specific share
of resources. Therefore, the question
lies whether the reputation of the
country can be upgraded by the
means of government practices
whereas the corruption of a country is
deeply rooted, sponsored by the
statecraft and remain out of
prosecution.

The allegations against the two parties
of bribery are brought under
prosecution in a very manipulating
way. For example, while Awami
League is in power, all allegations
against the major opposition party
BNP are brought into prosecution by
Anti-Corruption Commission or by
the concerned ministry and vice-versa.
The ruling party takes five years to run
the prosecution against the major
opposition party. At the end of the
tenure of the ruling party, the
convicted persons of the opposition
party are released by the high court by
stating that the allegations were not
proved. The whole process is done
through mutual compromise between
the two parties as the parties can
secure their political and monetary
benefits in near future. These process
or mechanism is complimentary for
both the parties no person is punished
for all the allegations. Recently,
allegation against the son of the
opposition party‘s leader, Tareque
Rahman, is released for money
laundering case with SIEMENS and
China Harbor Engineering Company.
On the other hand, the MNCs had to
face allegation in the home country
for bribing the foreign officials that
prove that those allegations are right.
For example, Niko Resources and
SNC- Lavalin are facing allegation in
their home country Canada for
violating Corruption of Foreign Public
Officials Act (CFPOA). But, the AntiCorruption
Commission
of
Bangladesh is designed in a corrupt
way that deals only to serve the
interest of the ruling party. That is
why the Transparency International
Bangladesh criticized the relevance of
the commission for fighting against
corruption from the state level.
