In conclusion, America’s drug, trafficking has many downsides. There are a plethora of consequences that are harmful to the economy and the citizens who belong to it. Whether it is drug consumption, or drug trafficking, the problems that occur from these habits result in enormous government spending, and loss in taxpayer money. The new role that America has earned is the leading drug users in the world. There are many negative effects of international drug trafficking, such as the amount of money spent by the government, the amount of money spent on drugs, and the amount of money made by drug traffickers.

Lastly, the amount of money drug producing and trafficking cartels and countries make is disturbing. A report from Business Insider states that Mexican citizens can buy a kilo of cocaine for two thousand dollars, and then can be sold at the U.S border for 30 thousand dollars! What is even more astounding is that if the kilo of cocaine is trafficked all the way up to New York, a kilo can sell for 100 thousand dollars! The amount of money that is made is the reason why drug cartels exist today, they can easily make millions of dollars, and that fuels the cartels. In fact, Mexican cartels are making billions of dollars using Americans as their customers. To this day, drug traffickers are still making absurd amounts of money selling drugs to the United States and very little can be done to prevent this from happening.
