According to Time Magazine, the United States has a lot of nuclear weapons because of terrorist attacks. As of now America has 6,800 nuclear warheads that could protect the United States from terrorist attacks. DO you think the United States should have nuclear warheads just to be safe and to keep ahead of other countries?
The MAD doctrine assumes that each side has enough nuclear weapon to destroy the other side and that either side, if attacked for any reason by the other, would fail with equal force the expected result is an immediate, irreversible escalation of hostilities resulting in both combatants mutual, total, and assured destruction. The doctrine requires that neither side construct shelters or a massive scale. Russia just wants to keep up with us because they are scared that we might get ahead of them. That’s why they are trying to match us in everything.
Russia is just trying to be equal with the United States. Russia is scared of the United States of America. It’s why they want to be equal with us.
