Notice how we here see an average Twitter user ’ s own Twitter profile ( feed ). In this case , two advertisements appear on his profile : one on the left-hand side under the “ who-to-follow ” list and one on his newsfeed . Both ads have the “ promoted ” word typed on them so that the user knows that he is seeing an advertisement . Also in both ads , it can be seen that some of his friends already like these advertising businesses ’ twitter pages – hence why this guy got the ads appearing on his page .
