Multi-Channel Retailing
It is a marketing strategy that offers the customer a choice of ways to buy products for example purchase from store, a website, over phone and via Social Media. Multi-Channel Retailing is a common way for high street and High end brands to push their sales including brands like Topshop, Chanel, Dior and H&M
Multiple Retailer:
A multiple retailer is also known as a chain store and owns a series of shops all selling the same products. Their location is usually high streets and shopping centres. Their target marketer tends to be an average working class men, women and children. The prices are very affordable for the majority of people which makes them very popular. Multiple chain stores are usually quite large because they hold a lot of stock, this is also why visual merchandising displays may not be as exciting as other stores. The product multiple chain stores offer are often quite ranged in style and goods to appeal to everyone. Their staff tends to be quite young to appeal to their target market, and they need a lot of staff working for them.
Super store:
Super stores are larger out of town supermarkets, examples of these are ToysRUs, B&Q and Costco. These stores would be located in a varied areas and would have their own carpark for their customers. The target customer would be families, this is because they appeal to all ages and genders. The prices are very average in super stores however these store would have a lot of offers on multi-buying as people usually would go here to get all of their needs met in one shop rather than having to go to various locations.
Department stores:
A department store is a large store that have separate areas in which different products are sold, the location for a department stores are high streets. Most target customers are between the ages of 30-90, these people have an average to high income.
Non profit stores;
A nonprofit organisation is a store that has a purpose for something other than making a profit. They are usually on a high street or in a local town and are not likely to be found in shopping centres or more expensive areas. The target customer is usually older people, people that may be on a budget or people that are into vintage items. The merchandise is all second hand goods and the visual displays are quite basic.
