The Bottega Veneta collection is my favourite because it modernized the Teddy Boy look so I chose to include photos of this collection in the Get the Look page to give you all an example of a modern take on this look.
The second era I chose is the 1960s and the get the look page is for the Twiggy look. I chose this era because it is my favourite. I love the variety of different trends from this era as they are all so different and yet all so popular at the same time. Twiggy is a famous model who was most popular during the 1960s and her look is iconic. She often wore shift dresses in bright colours such as pink or orange. She was also a fan of the mini skirt which first became popular during this era. Although this look does not suit me Twiggy does it so well and I love how she makes it look so effortless. I love the way she can stand with a straight face and still look amazing. Her look has influenced make up today, her exaggerated style of eye make-up came back into fashion and is now really popular.
The third era I chose is the 1970s. I chose this era because I think it is one of the most exciting of all the eras. I think the way music began to become such a large influence in the fashion world is really interesting because now everybody idolizes celebrities, especially music artists, as fashion icons. I like all the different looks of the 1970s such as the glam rock look or the disco look, but I decided to base the get the look page on the punk look. I chose the punk look because I love the style. Although I would not wear an all-out punk outfit I am a serial 'all black everything' kind of girl. I love wearing black ripped jeans and tartan patterned clothing so the punk style is something I love. I think it is really interesting how people used fashion and the way they look to rebel against society, it is amazing how clothing has the power to do that. One of my favourite designers is Vivienne Westwood because her clothing is so different and really stands out. It was during the 1970s that she became so popular making clothes that appealed to the punk subculture.
I think that this video informs the reader well as I have spoken clearly about each different look. I have explained what I like about each era and why I chose each look. I have spoken about the images I have included on each get the look page so the reader can understand how these images relate to each style.I think that after watching this video the reader would understand how to achieve each of the looks I have included in the magazine.
