“CATCH THE FUTURE ”ACTIVITY PLAN •The students take the 1cm squared papers and draw rectangles on them in any size they want. •They calculate the area of the rectangle they draw. •They draw a diagonal on the rectangle and first cut out the rectangle and then cut along the diagonal with scissors. Learning Process •They try to estimate whether these two pieces can form a parallelogram or not and after they find out they can form, then they paste the papers over another paper in the parallelogram form. •They calculate the area of the rectangle and the parallelogram and then obtain the formula for the area of the parallelogram. Further The students may be divided into groups and create some stories or creative drama Application of the activities. Results Recovery Process Students use GeoGebra and draw some rectangles and parallelogram and make the related calculations. Evaluation Kahoot! Application may be used in order to prepare a short exam aiming to evaluate the success rate of the students in calculating the areas of rectangle and parallelogram.
