Different sized colored pompoms, connecting wires, styrofoam balls, acrylic paint,
brush, liquid glue, silicone gun
The students are expected to estimate the molecules that can be formed by the
atoms given to them and to make molecular models using different materials.
The task of the students is to calculate the number of bonds each atom can make
and make appropriate molecular models.
In molecular models, you should pay attention to the number of bonds that atoms
can make.
You must select materials of the appropriate size for each atom by ordering the
atomic sizes.
Learning
process
The teacher asks the students to examine their environment and count how many
different kinds of substances they see at the beginning of the lesson.
He then asks them to think about how so many varieties can form. He asks them to
guess how 118 different atoms in the world can be so diverse.
The teacher tells the students about atomic structure, electron arrangement, dublet and
octet rule, stable unstable atom. Explains how the number of bonds an atom can make
depending on the desire to give or receive electrons.
It asks them to give the atomic numbers of the different atoms and make their electron
arrays, to estimate the number of bonds they can make depending on their tendency to
receive and give electrons.
Student's
Reflective
Activities
They are asked to predict which compounds can be bonded to each other and
determine the molecular structure of the compounds. They are asked to make models of
molecular models they draw using different materials brought to class.
Students draw the molecular models they predict. Lack of drawings
Send feedback, Past, Saved, Community and the teacher helps students correct errors.
The bond numbers of atoms in their models are controlled. Correcting mistakes.
