Learning process
At the beginning of the course, students are given a short discussion on how the
variety of sounds will contribute to aesthetics and art when the sounds come together.
Subject: Comparable with “Monophony in music is more aesthetic” thesis and
“Polyphony in music is more aesthetic?” antithesis.
Listen to a known work (sample work: Kâtibim); The students are asked how the
music arouses if it is performed with different kinds of instruments and
interpretations. Then, in a Turkish music piece (It may preferably be a Fasıl concert),
a focus is given again with questions like "Which instruments do you know the names
of the song you are listening to?" and in a listened Western music work (eg symphony
9) “Do you know the names of these instruments?”
Then, the names of the instruments that are not mentioned on the presentation
prepared by the teacher on the smart board are asked over the visuals. The names of
unknown instruments are said to take notes.
