This year was , by far , an unconventional year . Fortunately for all of us in the spirit of operating forward , this article will not be a retelling of all the new operational issues we learned to control this past year . Honestly , I do not think that any of us could stand to hear how we changed operations manuals , added new procedures , added by Brian Cassagio new equipment and wore a lot of masks . This article will focus on taking that knowledge and driving forward into the new year . However , before we move on , it is important to know what 2020 did for all of us in operations . The big takeaway for the operations teams was to remind your stakeholders at the club level , managers and staff what was really important to successful operations : Leadership , People and Service .
Your teams came together to operate all those new policies and practices successfully because of your strong leaders educating and supporting the new initiatives . Your teams learned to rely on each member on the team and accomplish tasks together , or risk not accomplishing them at all . Your teams gave great customer service by remembering that exceeding guests ’ expectations is always a challenge , but with empathy , understanding and flexibility meeting the customers ’ needs can be rewarding . While 2020 was difficult , it definitely made us all humble and thankful for the opportunity to take a moment to remember to build on the positive behaviors that were already working for our system .
