SIGNIFICANT EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING ACHIEVEMENTS Skyler Reeve received his certificate for completing the Pedestrian Accident Reconstruction training. The following personnel successfully completed significant education and/or training programs: Andrew Bauer was selected and completed Field Training Officer school. Judy Benitez received her Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate. Judy also received her USPCA K-9 Certification. Joe Binns earned his National Instructor Certification from the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training. Ryan Egan completed the West Point Leadership Program through Methodist University in April 2018. Chad Gorman completed General Instructor School. K9 Falcon (Sonny Roberson-handler) received the Police Dog 1 and Police Dog 2 certifications. K9 Holston (Scott Klein-handler) received the Police Dog 1 and Police Dog 2 certifications. Frank Hughes was selected and completed Field Training Officer school. Patrick Lee received his Enforcement Certificate. Intermediate Law K9 Macky (Greg Holding-handler) received the Police Dog 1 and Police Dog 2 certifications. Patrick McGuire received his Motorcycle for Law Enforcement Certificate. Michael Medlin received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate. K9 Skubi (Judy Benitez-handler) received the Police Dog 1 and Police Dog 2 certifications. Lorie Smith completed the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy in September 2018. Bobby Wilder received his Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate. Adam Wolfe was selected and completed Field Training Officer school. Adam also completed the Traffic Enforcement & Investigation Certificate Program through The North Carolina Justice Academy. Adam received his certificate for completing the Pedestrian Accident Reconstruction training. OTHER RECOGNITIONS Eric Ankarstran was honored by the American Legion and VFW for his service to our country, as well as his service as a Garner Police Officer. Judy Benitez was awarded a Department Commendation for her outstanding efforts and willingness to exhaust all leads to close out multiple cases of larceny from motor vehicle. Frank Hughes received the Meritorious Conduct Award for providing first aid and CPR to a stabbing victim. Cameron Hutchens was Top Shot for the department. Mitchell Lanphier was presented a CIT award for his work with the Crisis Intervention Program in Garner. Nathan Price received his Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate. Patrick Lee was selected as the “Rob Apple Officer of the Year” by his peers. Patrick was recognized by the American Society for Industrial Security with a Legion of Excellence Award. Patrick was recognized by the “Garner First Responders Organization” for his outstanding service to the citizens of Garner. Brian McLean was presented a CIT award for his work with the Crisis Intervention Program in Garner. Ethan Ramsey received his Basic Radar Certification.
