NEW EMPLOYEES
Shane Pleasants was elevated to First Class Officer
in November 2018.
The following employees joined the Garner Police
Department in 2018:
I.T. Specialist Chris Hagwood re-joined GPD on
January 2, 2018.
Officer James Cuoco joined GPD on January 8,
2018.
Officer Robert Tichenor joined GPD on January
8, 2018.
Crime Analyst Caleb Myers joined GPD on March
12, 2018.
Officer Nicholas Robbins joined GPD on April 16,
2018.
Officer Stephen Long joined GPD on August 20,
2018.
Officer Jared Mossbrook joined GPD on August
20, 2018.
Officer Clarisse Richardson joined GPD on August
20, 2018.
RETIREMENTS
Investigator William Hinson retired on June 22,
2018.

ADVANCEMENTS
The following personnel earned career progression
elevations based on educational, training and
years of service achievements:
Chad Gorman was elevated to Police Officer II in
December 2017.
Frank Hughes was elevated to Police Officer II in
May 2018.
Trevor Rhoads was elevated to Police Officer II in
August 2018.
Tyler Rose was elevated to First Class Officer in
December 2017.
Justin Smith was elevated to Police Officer II in
March 2018.
SPECIALIZED ASSIGNMENT SELECTION
The following personnel participated in com-
petitive selection processes and were selected to
specialized positions in the department:
Kevan Anderson was designated as the Special
Olympics Coordinator.
Andrew Bauer was selected to serve as a K-9
Officer.
Anthony Bria was selected as School Resource
Officer.
Derrick McCarter was selected as School Resource
Officer.
Mike McIver was named the Governor’s Highway
Safety Program (GHSP) county coordinator for
Wake County.
Hunter Miller was selected as a General
Investigator. Hunter was selected to serve on the
Special Response Team.
Kevin Pena was selected as a General Investigator.
Kevin was selected to serve on the Special
Response Team.
Will Simpson was selected to serve on the Special
Response Team.
