McDonough City Councilman Rufus Stewart Brings Quality of Life to the Community

If you drive down Phillips
Drive or just decide to take
a walk, you will see that
providing up standard qual-
ity of Life is the single most
important thing to Coun-
cilman Rufus Stewart. Mr.
Stewart has served his com-
munity for over 25 years
and has made himself avail-
able to the people he serves
consistently. After fighting
vigorously for a Communi-
ty Block Grant, the city of
McDonough has not only
re-paved the streets but put
new sidewalks in place to
give the citizens a sense
of upscale living. Along
with SPLOAST dollars and
city funds, Mr. Stewart has
led the charge to make his
community great again. Mr.
Stewart states “This is only
the beginning, we are going
to help citizens remodel
homes, upgrade our park
equipment and create an
environment that is safe
and family friendly. “

are in this area or plan
on coming to this area to
thrive and it starts with
vision and leadership!”
says Councilman Stewart.
Throughout the summer,
Councilman Stewart pro-
vides summer camps for
kids and resources to keep
young people positive. He
is constantly giving back
through many
programs he
has established
for the com-
munity. New
street lights
and mailbox-
es were also
added to the project of the
Community Block Grant
and SPLOST funds making
it safer to walk the street
and easier access of com-
munication thru mail for
the citizens. Thank you Mr.
