play Kingdom Kerry Gaels and with Fulham Irish taking on
St. Kiernans.
The semi-finals of the Intermediate football championship
were decided last weekend in two close encounters. High
flyers St. Josephs, already winners of two cups, got home by
two points 1-10 to St. Brendans 0-11, while in the other game
Garryowen also narrowly accounted for Harlesden Harps
by 2-10 to 0-14. However, in the junior semis finals over the
same weekend, we had two draws between St. Clarets and
Eire Og, and Tir Chonaill Gaels and St. Anthonys. The replays are scheduled to take place this Saturday, Sept 19.
HURLING
At senior hurling the group stages have concluded and the
three main protagonists this season, last year’s champions
Kilburn Gaels, St. Gabriels and Robert Emmetts have done

enough to reach the semi- finals. While it’s not clear at present
who will be joining them Cuchulainns look the most likely to
fill the last slot. In the Intermediate Hurling form side Thomas
McCurtains look like the favourites for the championship with
Fulham Irish and Fr. Murphy’s likely to put up the stiffest challenge in the closing stages of this competition.
COGGINS STEPS DOWN
Meanwhile, London senior football manager Paul Coggins announced this week that he was stepping down as boss. Coggins
has had a solid tenure with London over the past 5 years with
2013 being the standout season when he led London to a Connacht championship final. London brought Mayo to extra time
in 2011 and later that year won their first senior championship
beating Fermanagh in the Qualifiers. In 2012, London lost narrowly to Leitrim in the Connacht Championship and though
they lost the Connacht final to Mayo the following year, the
