CLOSING STAGES, COGGINS
STEPS DOWN AND NEW
BRITISH ARMY TEAM
There was plenty of news both on and off the field
in London GAA circles last weekend and early this
week.
We moved that bit closer to knowing this year’s finalists in many of the London GAA championships,
while off the field London senior football manager
Paul Coggins stepped down in his role, and perhaps
the biggest news item and certainly an historic one,
was the decision to allow a British Army team compete next year.
SENIOR FOOTBALL & HURLING
The 8 team senior football championship reached
the end of the group stages last weekend with four
sides advancing to the semi-finals. In the final round
3 of the group stages on Saturday last, defending senior champions Tir Chonaill Gaels had a facile 1-21 to
0-12 over Neasden Gaels, St. Kiernans did likewise
against Round Towers on 3-16 to 2-2. The following
day saw Kingdom Kerry Gaels get past Parnells on a
scoreline of 0-14 to 0-10, while last year’s runners-up
Fulham Irish took care of North London Shamrocks
by 3-18 to 0-6. The results see the winners into the
