FOOTBALL FINALS EASTS TREBLE
The final action of the season saw the football finals take place last Sunday at Willawong
with three games down for decision. The first
one was the men’s reserves or division 2 game
between Easts Celts and John Mitchels. The
Mitchels outfit started off well in this game
scoring a pair of points before Easts got on the
board. In a low-scoring affair, Easts eventually
got going and led by the narrowest of margins
0-4 to 0-3 at the break. The deciding score came
when Easts shot a goal to extend their lead with
Mitchels struggling to keep pace. Easts added
another three-pointer late in the game and it
was the goals that won them this division 2
championship final in a 2-6 to 0-6 victory. Best
for Easts were Fergal Beacon, Colin Crowley
