FOOTBALL FINALS EASTS TREBLE The final action of the season saw the football finals take place last Sunday at Willawong with three games down for decision. The first one was the men’s reserves or division 2 game between Easts Celts and John Mitchels. The Mitchels outfit started off well in this game scoring a pair of points before Easts got on the board. In a low-scoring affair, Easts eventually got going and led by the narrowest of margins 0-4 to 0-3 at the break. The deciding score came when Easts shot a goal to extend their lead with Mitchels struggling to keep pace. Easts added another three-pointer late in the game and it was the goals that won them this division 2 championship final in a 2-6 to 0-6 victory. Best for Easts were Fergal Beacon, Colin Crowley Division 2 men’s football final action.
