ship. Final score Tara Gaels 4-13 Eire Og 4-8. Best for

EMERALDS TOO GOOD
Three teams also compete in hurling in Queensland
GAA – Emeralds, Na Fianna and Cuchulainns. The decider was a repeat of last year’s final between champions Na Fianna and Emeralds. The latter side had a great
season to date going undefeated to comfortably take the
league and so were the favourites heading into the final
game of the season. The early going saw Emeralds in
full flow as they shot 2-4 in the opening quarter with Na
Fianna yet to find their feet. Emeralds looked in control
but just before the break Na Fianna’s Oisin Lynch got two
quick goals to get his side back into the game. At the half
it was anyone’s game with Emeralds shading things by 2-9
to 2-7.
Emeralds started the second half as they had the first
when Paudie O’Dwyer grabbed a goal to extend the lead.
The league champions never looked back after this and
were able to maintain their advantage through the second
period with Na Fianna always second best. It ended with a
7 point victory for Emeralds to cap off a wonderful season.
Final score Emeralds 3-19 Na Fianna 3-12. Best for Emeralds were Paudie O Dwyer, Mick Farrell Stephen Henry
and Tom Lynch, while for Na Fianna Oisin Lynch did well,
as did Pat Marnane in defense, along with Paul Phelan and
Rory Conroy.
