The early part of this game was point
for point but just before half time saw
Easts get a lift and vital score when
Eamon Bowe punched the ball to the
Mitchels net. At the break it was Easts
ahead by 1-4 to 0-3. The second half
continued to be tight but Easts kept the
point’s column ticking over to maintain
their advantage. Mitchels did get a goal
but Easts always seemed to be able to respond and eventually held out for a 1-9
to 1-6 great championship victory. Easts
had good performers in defense such as
Mark Kehoe and Mossy Hartnett along
with Conor Carroll and Alan Murphy
also influential, while John Mitchels
Paul McGurrin, Conor McElroy and
Paul Doherty played well.
