AFD Celebrates Community Pride by Being an Active Participant in
Downtown Holiday Parades
For decades, the Arlington Fire Department has lead the Fourth of July
Parade. With lights flashing and sirens blaring, our apparatus has
opened many parades. Several years ago, the Department began
staging two aerial units on opposite sides of the street close to the
reviewing stand, forming an arch complete with an American flag flying
between them.
When the City added its
annual Parade of Lights to kick
off the winter holiday season,
AFD members joined in the fun
by decorating the apparatus
with lights, tinsel and wreaths.
