Boat Safety Inspections
Crews from Fire Station #7 assist the Coast Guard
Auxiliary to inspect boats for safety. The inspections
are conducted once a month during the boating
season at no cost to the boater.
If the boat and operator pass the inspection, they
receive certification and are eligible for a discount on
their boat insurance.
During the FY2013 boating season, over 50 boats
were inspected.

AFD and APFF Partner to Send Honor Guard Members
to Prescott, Arizona for Memorial Service
Honor Guard members FF Bryan Friend and LT Chris Balough
recently attended the memorial service for the nineteen members of
the Granite Mountain Hotshots, part of the Prescott Fire Department,
who lost their lives Sunday, June 30, 2013, while battling the 8,400
acre Yarnell Hill wildland fire. Arlington was proud to be represented
along with firefighters from all over the United States and Canada.

National Night Out
The Fire Department is actively involved in the safety of the
neighborhoods we serve. Station personnel attend town hall
meetings, block parties, and other community events throughout the
year. With support from the Police Department, as well as the
community, NNO events serve to instill and reinforce the presence of
public safety.
