New Storage Barn Completed at the Reserve Apparatus Facility
The Fire storage building / awning constructed behind the Reserve Apparatus Facility was completed . The project began in November 2012 . The large 4,224 square foot facility will provide logistical storage for the Department ’ s our trailers , portable generators and similar equipment .
AFD and APFF Partner to give City Council Members a Look into a Day in the Life of a Firefighter
In the spring of 2013 AFD and APFF partnered together provide members of the City Council a “ real life ” perspective of what our team does . Fire Operations 101 was a class designed to share some of the services our team provides to the citizens . Subjects covered included : Special Operations , Medical Operations , EOC Operations , an extrication exercise and live burns .
Recruitment and Selection Process Successful
The AFD conducted another hiring process . Out of almost 1,200 applicants , 30 candidates were offered positions .
