FY2012 Arlington Fire Department Annual Report FY 2012 | Page 64
A critical piece of the Fire Department's strategic plan for FY2013 is to
implement the new NFPA 1710, 2010 Edition Response Time requirements.
The new response objectives are based on the dispatched initial complaint type and the first unit on
scene. EMS Calls for Service are a 1:00 minute (60 seconds) turnout time and 5:00 minute (300
seconds) total response time, and FIRE and Other Emergency Calls for Service are 1:20 (80
seconds) turnout time and 5:20 (320 seconds) total response time.
