2011 Rangers Post Season
About 375,000 people attended the eight games of the
Rangers 2011 postseason that were hosted in
Arlington. The games proved challenging because
much of the information regarding game dates and
times was not determined until the very last minute,
creating the need to staff and plan for two completely
different scenarios for both the Division Series and
Championship Series. There was a rainout during the
Championship Series as well, which created additional
staffing challenges. The last big challenge was three
dates with simultaneous events at the Stadium and the
Ballpark, bringing between 85,000 and 117,000 to the
Entertainment District on each date.
UTA’s College Park Center
This $78 million, 218,000-square-foot facility opened
in February 2012. It can accommodate up to 7,000
people and is the new home court for the
University’s basketball and volleyball teams. It also
hosts other events including speakers, concerts, and
high school graduation ceremonies. Some notable
events from their first year included a speaking
engagement by Jeb Bush and a sold-out Drake
concert
