Newsletter Title Page 18 TIFMAS became a reality for the AFD The establishment of a Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) team tells the state that we will be ready to assist in the event of a catastrophic wild land fire events like those in 2011. Our requirements for participation have been met and our team is ready to make a difference. AFD is prepared for Duty. The AFD/AISD/TCC High School Firefighter/EMT Program completed its first year. The successes of the first year were remarkable. AFD instructors were the key to the program’s unbelievable success. We’re a compassionate organization, making a real difference in the lives of students and the community we serve. As a result, we’re changing too!
