and may build self-confidence and resilience,
but it doesn’t change you internally; just like
the delightful icing and beautiful wording on
an improperly made cake make it anymore
delicious.
I in no way can tell anyone how to spend their
currency or what defines success. You deserve
to celebrate the spoils that comes with hard
work, dedication and the commitment
that comes with setting a goal for
things you want to acquire; we should
all spoil ourselves. The question
becomes, why are we surprised
when people (corporations) show
us exactly who they are, then are
allowed to pacify the public with
a politically correct apology while
filling their coffers with funds
earned from free publicity? Soulja
Boy announced that he was no
longer associating himself with
the luxury brand (Gucci),
exclaiming, “We’re only
rocking Fendi headbands
from now on!” Floyd
Mayweather
denounced the
boycott of the
brand saying he earned the right
to spend his money as he pleases;
and both have the ability to do as
they desire. But is there no code
of ethics amongst our community
when wrong doing is taking place
and our people are continually
marginalized?

had you, I wouldn’t need them.”
We can’t say we haven’t had
our share of brands to
